About Alcovy Septic
Alcovy Septic is a septic tank pumping company serving Lawrenceville and Gwinnett County, plus Rockdale and western Walton County. This page is about the work and how it is priced, not a founding story.
What we do
Routine and emergency septic tank pumping, inspections, tank locating and riser installation, tank and drain field repair, line jetting, commercial pumping and grease traps. The full list is on the services page. Most of what we do is the same job: open both compartments, remove the liquid, sludge and scum, check the baffles and the outlet filter, and tell you what the tank looks like inside.
How the work is done
Georgia's on-site sewage rules (Chapter 511-3-1) set the standards this trade works to: residential tanks have two compartments with the first holding at least two-thirds of the volume, openings must keep surface water out while allowing ready access for maintenance, and tanks must be pumped by a certified pumper working for a company that holds a county septage removal permit. Septage goes to a permitted disposal site — in Gwinnett, the county charges haulers $130 per 1,000 gallons to receive it.
We pump both compartments on every visit, clean the outlet effluent filter, and note the sludge depth so you know where you stand rather than just that the tank is empty. If a baffle has dropped or the drain field is saturated, you hear about it with what it means and what it costs, not a scare quote.
How pricing works
You get a price range on the phone before anything is dispatched, based on tank size, how the lid sits and when you need it. The crew confirms the final price once the lid is uncovered. If something changes it — a lid under a patio, a tank that has not been touched in a decade — they stop and tell you before continuing. Published market ranges for the area are on the cost guide, and the estimator gives you a number in about thirty seconds.
What you get on paper
A dated receipt listing gallons pumped, tank size, what was found and what was done. That is the format lenders, home inspectors and Gwinnett County all accept, including for the county's 10% stormwater fee credit, which runs for five years off a single pumping receipt.
Where we work
Lawrenceville and Gwinnett County, plus Rockdale and western Walton County. In practice that means Lawrenceville and the towns around it — Snellville, Lilburn, Loganville, Buford, Conyers, Dacula and Monroe among them. The full list is on the service areas page.
What we will tell you honestly
When a tank does not need pumping yet, when the job belongs to a plumber rather than a septic crew, and when a drain field is past repair and no amount of pumping will fix it. Those conversations cost us a visit and save you money, which is the trade we would rather make.
The process
What happens when you call
-
A person answers
A dispatcher, not a menu. Four questions about the address, the symptoms and the last pump-out.
-
You get a range
A price range and an arrival window before anything is booked. Nothing is dispatched until you agree.
-
The work gets done
Both compartments pumped, baffles and filter checked, findings noted while the crew is on site.
-
You get the paperwork
A receipt with gallons, tank size, findings and date, and a realistic next pump date.
Questions before you book?
Call and ask. We would rather answer them now than on the driveway.
